A woman, Lisa Chaves, 23, was involved in an accident that occurred in Gustine, California, and led to the death of a 26-year-old man. Accident reports state that the crash happened on April 23 at about 4:22 p.m., on Highway 33 near Sullivan Road.
The California Highway Patrol reported that Chaves was on the wheels of a 1996 Acura Integra. With her on the passenger seat of the car was the victim, a man from San Jose. Chaves was heading north on Highway 33 when all of a sudden, she made a left turn onto Sullivan Road.

Her car collided with a passing Nissan Sentra, which had a 25-year-old man, Luis Cruz, from Santa Nella, driving it. The Nissan Sentra smashed into the passenger seat of the Acura Integra, killing the San Jose man and injuring Chaves.
When an ambulance arrived, she was immediately placed in and taken to Los Banos Memorial Hospital, where she received treatment for her injuries. The driver of the Nissan Sentra was, however, unhurt.
Accident reports also said that all of the individuals involved in the accident were wearing their seatbelts when the accident occurred. The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
