Police authorities, on April 23, identified Jamal Capers as the man who died last week on Highway 4, Martinez, California, after stealing and crashing a car. Accident reports state that the 29-year-old stole the car last week and drove it for a while before crashing on the highway.
The California Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred on April 17 at the hours of 1:35 a.m. in the westbound direction, east of the Franklin Canyon road exit. The deceased drove the car, a silver Volvo, for more than 100 miles per hour before flipping it over.

Registration checks on the vehicle showed that it was stolen from an unknown location in Martinez before the accident occurred.
According to accident reports, Capers lost control of the vehicle, causing him to veer off the road and into the center dirt median. The car then collided with a guard rail before going back across traffic lanes and flipping over.
Investigation reports also said that the deceased wasn’t buckled in. He was ejected from the car via a closed sunroof and landed on the roadway. He died on the spot at the scene of the crash.
