A 16-year-old driver from Rincon died in a single-car accident on Zittrouer Road in Effingham County on Monday evening. He has been identified as Franklin Davis in accident reports.
He attended Effingham County High School.

The authorities reported that the three teenagers who were traveling in his vehicle also suffered serious injuries. The crash happened a little after 5 p.m.
According to Georgia State Patrol, the other people involved in the accident were Darius Prescott, 19; Cutter Avery, 16; and Kassidy Avery, 13.
The authorities said Prescott was not wearing a seat belt and he was thrown from the vehicle when the crash occurred.
The passengers were taken to Memorial Hospital. It is not clear whether Davis died at the scene or in hospital.
Eyewitnesses reported that the teenager was driving fast, and he was unable to maintain control of the 2005 Honda Accord when he encountered a slight bend in the road.
GSP spokesperson Lt. Stephanie L. Stallings said the car hit three mailboxes on Zittrouer Road before striking a ditch going airborne. The vehicle flipped before landing some 30 yards down the street, she said.
Meanwhile, the Public Information Officer with Effingham County Sheriff’s Office, Gena Sullivan, said one of the passengers was in critical condition while the others suffered “pretty serious injuries”.
No update was published on their conditions by Thursday.

Law enforcement officials will continue to probe the incident and subsequent accident reports could include additional information.
