Authorities said Singh was driving east on Abbot Road at about 2:45 a.m. Friday when the vehicle left the roadway near Thiel Road. The car then crashed into a utility pole and struck a parked tractor, car accident reports state.
Both Singh and Abshere, whom authorities believe were wearing seatbelts, sustained serious injuries in the crash, troopers reported. They were taken to area hospitals for treatment.
An updated condition report wasn’t available Friday night. Aside from the tractor, no other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Officials from the Washington State Patrol said they suspect intoxicants, like drugs or alcohol, likely were contributing factors to the crash.
No charges or citations were listed in car accident reports available Friday evening. However, investigators said charges could be forthcoming.
