A pursuit began, but it soon ended when the driver lost control of vehicle, according to car accident reports. The vehicle struck a utility pole and rolled over, authorities said.
The 17-year-old girl was airlifted to a hospital in St. Louis, where she succumbed to her wounds, car accident reports state. Crawford, the driver and the other passenger also were injured, but the wounds aren’t believed to be life-threatening, police said.
Car accident reports did not identify the driver nor the two underage passengers.
