The CHP said that the deceased was driving a 2000 Toyota Camry before the accident, which became unfunctional in the middle of a traffic lane. The woman then decided to come down from the disabled vehicle to see what the problem was.
Investigators said that the victim was standing outside her car when an oncoming 2019 Nissan Altima, driven by Anderson, struck her. The impact of the collision left the woman with extensive wounds that claimed her life at the collision scene, and the authorities pronounced her.
Anderson was unscathed, and he stayed at the scene, answering the investigators’ questions. They determined that he was not liable for the collision and let him go without making an arrest. The east lanes of the freeway stayed close until the authorities concluded their investigation and cleared debris from the road.
Those who witnessed the accident should reach out to the investigators at the Baldwin Park Area Office of the CHP on the listed line. Anyone involved in a traffic crash should report the car accident to avoid adverse legal consequences.
