The vehicle involved, driven by Christine Marie Rene, 36, of Caldwell, was westbound on Boonville. For unknown reasons, her car veered sideways and left the road before rolling over. Officers said the overturned vehicle expelled the accident victim before eventually coming to rest in a ravine.
First responders pronounced Rene deceased at the scene, from fatal injuries sustained in the crash. No other vehicle was involved in the traffic wreck; neither did the police report additional casualties.
The accident reports failed to ascertain whether distracted driving, speed, drugs or alcohol contributed to the collision.
The crash shut down all lanes on FM 1179, and parts of Boonville for hours. Traffic officers diverted all vehicles plying the route to Thornberry. No other information about the rollover crash is available at this time.
Authorities implored anyone who witnessed the crash or has information that could facilitate the investigation to get in touch with the BPD with reports of the car accident.
