A teenager has been severely hurt as the result of a single-vehicle accident allegedly involving underaged drinking.

Yakima law enforcement at the scene reported that at approximately 12:37 a.m. local time, Ms. Marin was a passenger in a car that crashed over an embankment at East Lincoln Avenue, leading to her serious injuries. The crash occurred when, law enforcement claimed, the 20-year-old driver identified as Jason Peralta was reportedly drunk and had been driving in the wrong direction at the time of the crash. He was subsequently charged with vehicular assault.
Medics got to the scene quickly and took the victim to a local hospital where she is being treated for severe injuries, law enforcement confirmed.
