The ISP said that he lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons and veered off the roadway on the right side. He corrected, got back on the road, crossed the westbound lanes, and continued through the center median.
The Honda crossed the eastbound lanes before striking a 2018 Chevrolet driven by Feehan on the road’s right shoulder. Medics took the motorists to a local hospital for treatment, including a 9-year-old and 6-year-old traveling in the Chevrolet.
The police cited Odomes for improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. There is no additional information at this time.
Under Illinois law, a person who gets pulled over for the offense of improper lane usage is liable to pay up to $1000 fine in addition to court supervision for up to 12 months. Drivers can avoid this by sticking to their lanes and driving without impairment.
