A man from Riverdale faces multiple charges after he caused a non-fatal accident while driving under the influence on Interstate 80, Rock Island County, Illinois. The Friday, October 9th, crash involved Shaun Porento, and he would need a drunk driving attorney.
According to the Illinois State Police, the 37-year-old driver operated a 2011 Ford Taurus on the interstate near milepost 4 at about 8:05 p.m. He rear-ended a 2007 Ford Econoline E350 sending it off the roadway.

A passenger in the truck, identified as Jose M. Reyes-Aguilar, 28, of Peoria, sustained life-threatening injuries, and medics conveyed him to an area hospital. Another passenger in the vehicle suffered non-life-threatening wounds.
The ISP charged Porento with aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, causing severe bodily harm, driving under the influence of alcohol, and illegal alcohol transportation. He also faces failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, improper lane change, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
The police said the suspect sustained non-life-threatening injuries and received treatment in an area hospital. A passenger in the Taurus was uninjured. The driver of Econoline, Walter Camillo, 33, of Peoria, received a citation for having no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured vehicle.
The state police blocked the affected lane of I-80 while they carried out their preliminary investigation and cleared the scene of debris. The investigation into the occurrence is ongoing. If convicted of the charges, Porento, under Illinois law, faces imprisonment and payment of fines.
