INGLEWOOD, CA – The driver responsible for yesterday’s fatal collision in Inglewood has been identified, as has one of his two victims.
CBSLA reports that Gustavo Ruelas, Jr . had been fleeing from police officers when he collided with a sedan at the intersection of Glasgow Avenue and Olive Street at about 10:40 p.m. on Wednesday, April 28. The collision damaged the sedan so badly that emergency responders had to cut it in half to extricate its occupants.

The sedan’s female passenger died at the scene. Her family identified her as 22-year-old Asia Gonzales.
Gonzales’s boyfriend, also in his 20s, was the sedan’s driver. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died a short time later. His identity has not been released at this time.
Ruelas was also treated for minor injuries. He faces a number of unspecified criminal charges as a result of the chase and its violent conclusion.
