ESCONDIDO, CA – Police arrested the man responsible for a hit-and-run collision with injuries, after he fled the scene and attempted to hide in a nearby amusement park.
The Times of San Diego reports that the initial collision took place in the 15700 block of San Pasqual Valley Road at about 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, April 27. The driver of a red Nissan Versa attempted to make a U-turn in the driveway for the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, which caused a Hyundai Sonata to collide with his vehicle.

The Nissan’s driver jumped out of the car and fled into the park through an open gate. Police eventually apprehended the 30-year-old man, who suffered a broken ankle in the collision, and plan to charge him with felony hit-and-run and DUI.
The Sonata’s 41-year-old female driver suffered a broken arm.
