The California Highway Patrol has released an update in regard to the charter bus accident that occurred on Saturday morning.
Two of the female victims who died at the scene have been identified. 67-year-old Maria De La Luz Diaz and 73-year-old Julia Perez Cornejo were identified as two of the three women killed at the scene.

The third woman has only been identified as a 23-year-old from Mexico, a name has not been released at this time.
The youngest passenger on board was a 5-year-old boy from Mexico who is still currently being treated at University Riverside Health Services Medical Center. He sustained life-threatening injuries during the accident.
The oldest passenger on board was a 75-year-old female from Mexico who sustained serious injuries.
The names of other passengers injured have not been released at this time.
Federal investigators are now involved in the accident investigation. They are trying to determine what caused the accident to happen. At this time, it has not been released why the driver lost control of the bus.
The witness who claims that the bus hydroplaned prior to the accident has been identified as Christopher Williams. He stated that the bus and the accident happened about 200 yards from his car.
When he saw the bus go down the embankment, he started helping with the rescue effort, pulling injured victims up the hill and away from the bus.
The original story suggests that the weather may have played an active role in why the driver lost control of the bus. The witness statement corroborates that theory.
Crews were sent to extensively search the area by land and air after the accident. They verified that there were no more victims to the accident, just those initially reported.
