A February 22 accident has an Arbuckle man in custody for a possible DUI. The accident happened after 30-year-old Joshua Muller crashed his SUV into a tree on Saturday night.
At the time of the accident, Muller’s wife was in the vehicle with him. According to the police, she died from injuries sustained during the collision with the tree.

The reports from the police indicated that the accident occurred around 9:30 p.m. on Railroad Avenue, north of Niemann Street.
Once at the scene of the accident, officials found 39-year-old Sarah Muller in the passenger seat of the vehicle. She was pronounced dead from the injuries she sustained when her husband ran into the tree.
Police performed a DUI investigation on Muller and found that he had a blood alcohol content level of .14%. This is almost double the legal limit in the state of California.
After being taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, Muller was taken by police. He was arrested and is currently booked in the Yolo County Jail on multiple charges stemming from the accident.
California law allows for one of two charges when a person is killed in a DUI accident. A person can be charged with murder or with gross vehicular manslaughter.
Most charges brought upon death in a DUI is a gross vehicular manslaughter charge. This is a felony.
It is possible for someone who is found guilty of this charge to end up in a California state prison for 4, 6, or 10 years. This is based upon the circumstances that revolve around the case.
The police have not released if Muller has requested legal counsel for the charges that have been brought against him.
Police are still investigating the accident. The report did not state where the couple was going at the time of the accident.
