The CHP noted that for reasons that remain elusive, Chang crossed the double yellow lines into the southbound lanes. The motorcycle then collided head-on with an oncoming silver Chevrolet Trailblazer, driven by Holland.
The impact of the crash ejected Chang from the bike, and his body struck the windshield before landing on the ground. The collision left the man with multiple traumatic injuries, and by the time paramedics made it to the scene, he had succumbed to his wounds.
Holland suffered severe injuries but made it alive to the hospital. The man was taken by the paramedics to Eden Medical Center for treatment, and there’s no update on his condition at the time of this report.
The collision led to the closure of traffic on North Vasco Road for several hours as the authorities carried out their preliminary investigation and cleared debris from the road. There is no additional information on the accident, and the investigation remains active.
Authorities have reiterated that road users should maintain the lane they are traveling on, and ensure they keep the legal speed limit to avoid fatal collisions of this nature.
