The names of the victims were Francisco Guerreo Jr., who was driving the semi-truck, Isaiah Boni, who was in the Pontiac, and Michaelena Wilson, who was also in the Pontiac. There was a third person in the Pontiac named Lambert Bond, who survived the impact. Lambert Bond was rescued from the car and taken by air-evac to Banner University Medical Hospital Center, Tucson.
However, before Bond could be successfully air-evaced, a drone flying over the crash site had to be removed. The drone belonged to 31-year old Jose Jimenez. Jose Jimenez at first refused to remove his drone from the area above the accident.
Law enforcement then took action and seized Jimenez’s drone and arrested him. Jimenez was subsequently arrested. He was charged with four counts of endangerment and unlawful operation of an unmanned vehicle.
The highway was closed for approximately five hours following the accident. It reopened at around 3 am, early Sunday morning.
