In order to determine the cause of the accident, police investigators carefully examined the accident scene. They were able to determine that the motorcyclist was going at a very high rate of speed before colliding with an SUV that was taking a right turn.
The name of the motorcyclist who died in the accident is John Woodward. It appeared that Woodward was trying to pass the SUV in the curb lane and did not realize that the SUV was turning. Woodward did not have enough time to react because he was traveling so fast.
The impact of the collision was enough to kill him. However, the driver of the SUV survived the accident and did not sustain any major injuries. Woodward was wearing a helmet, but it was not enough to save his life.
The driver of the SUV pulled to the side of the road after the accident occurred and cooperated with law enforcement. No charges have been filed at this time and the driver of the SUV was not arrested.
