One person was injured in a multi-vehicle wreck Sunday afternoon in Rochelle, according to the Illinois State Police.
Fifty-five-year-old Terrence L. Bowers, a resident of Rochelle, was injured in the incident, car accident reports state. His wounds are not believed to be life-threatening, authorities reported.

Troopers said Bowers at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday was driving on Illinois 38 when he attempted to pass another driver. As Bowers was moving past the second vehicle, he lost control of his car and struck the other driver’s front end, car accident reports state.
The collision caused both vehicles to rollover, according to the Illinois State Police. The report did not state whether either driver had a passenger when the wreck occurred.
Bowers was transported by emergency medical personnel to a nearby hospital to be treated for wounds sustained in the incident. Bruce D. Ellison, 64, the other vehicle’s driver, declined treatment at the scene, according to car accident reports.
Bowers received a citation for improper lane usage, according to authorities. Troopers did not say that he would face criminal charges in connection to the incident. They also have not said whether they believe something like inattentive driving or speed might have contributed to the crash.
Assisting the Illinois State Police were officials from the Rochelle Police and Fire departments, as well as the Ogle County Sheriff’s Department. Details released so far by investigators do not make it clear whether troopers will continue to look into the incident or are considering additional citations.
