There was no indication as to the direction Juergens was traveling at the time of the accident. A map of the area shows there are a couple of auto mechanic shops and an intersection with South General Bruce Drive.
The Temple Police Department had not originally named Juergens as the victim when they posted the story, but had commented on the feed later stating that the next of kin had been notified. Based on the comments at that time, Juergens’ mother had not been told of his death.
The Temple Police Department has been tight-lipped regarding the circumstances around the accident. They are calling upon their Traffic Reconstruction Unit to investigate the accident.
Reports did not indicate that Juergens was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The state of Texas does not require riders of motorcycles over the age of 21 to wear a helmet if they have been through the approved safety classes or have insurance.
Once the Traffic Reconstruction Unit completes the investigation, more information about the accident should surface. Updates will be published as they become available.
