Investigators gathered during the interrogations that a motorist driving through the intersection of Rench and Norris suddenly encountered the teenager on his skateboard. The boy fell off the skateboard and landed on the roadway, causing him injuries.
The Kern County Fire Department officials arrived at the scene a few minutes later and found the injured boy abandoned on the roadway with minor to moderate injuries. Paramedics accompanying the fire operatives transported the teenager, Devon Valdepena, to the Kern County Medical Center to receive medical aid. His condition at this time is unknown.
Meanwhile, the motorist that struck Valdepena failed to pull over and help the victim but fled before law enforcement arrived. An inquest to unveil additional information about the crash and the involved motorist is in the works.
A top accident lawyer can help review the case and decide the best approach to pursuing a lawsuit while ensuring the culprit faces the law.
