The 16-year-old boy killed in a single-vehicle accident in the Van Nuys neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, has been identified. Updates made to the car accident report on Monday, August 10th, named Ryan Koeppel as the fatal victim.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the accident happened around 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, August 6th. It occurred on West Vanowen Street, precisely in the 164000-block area outside the Van Nuys Airport. When paramedics and firefighters arrived at the scene, they found Koeppel trapped inside his wrecked car.

The teenager was responsive, and the medics pronounced him dead at the scene. The police said that an injured victim received treatment in a hospital, and a third person involved in the accident left the area before the first responders arrived.
The occurrence led to the closure of Vanowen Street between Hayvenhurst Avenue and Woodley Avenue while officers conducted the preliminary inquiry and cleared the scene. The investigation remains active.
