Accidents involving pedestrians are not typical, and they are one of the leading causes of crash-related deaths. From the moment the human body comes in contact with a motor vehicle, an individual suffers severe injuries, which mostly ends fatally.
The injuries affect the head, the upper body, and the lower body. The three cover intracranial bleeding, skull fracture, concussions, broken bones, fractures, organ damage, lacerations, or internal bleeding. Either of the preceding can lead to loss of an organ, loss of limb, and paralysis.
In the case of any of these losses, the victim can bring a civil lawsuit against the offending driver on the ground of personal injury. If the court finds the motorist guilty, he or she will pay damages to the tune of the loss suffered.
