Police say he was involved in an accident in Sandy Springs that resulted in the death of Orlando St. Louis II.
The incident began when a black car crashed into St. Louis’ 2017 Hyundai Elantra on Ga. 400 around 12:40 a.m. St Louis was transporting two unnamed passengers.
Two people who were driving by stopped to help the victims get out of the mangled vehicle.
The passengers in Elantra went over to sit in their rescuers’ vehicle. However, St Louis was struck by Stinner’s 2006 Toyota Sienna minivan as he was going to join them.
He died on the spot.
Police say investigations show that Stinner lost control of his van and when he overcorrected, he struck St Louis. Stinner’s passenger suffered injuries but no information was released about the person’s condition.
Stinner didn’t stay at the scene but police located him and took him into custody the next day.
He faces charges of driving with a suspended license, causing serious injury by vehicle, reckless driving, hit and run, and vehicular homicide.
He was taken to Fulton County Jail.
Police have not been able to locate the driver of the black vehicle that caused the initial accident.
In cases like this, the relatives of the victims often seek advice from a car injury lawyer. They may be able to get compensation if they file a wrongful death lawsuit.
