A 2004 Saturn driven by an unidentified driver struck the deceased at about 4:25 a.m. at the intersection of the Desert Inn Road and La Canada Street, east of Maryland Parkway. The police said that the driver, most likely in his 20s, was heading west on Desert, while Graham and two others were at the bus stop.
The Saturn for unknown reasons veered left, crossed the center median, and all eastbound lanes before hitting the sidewalk where the deceased and the two pedestrians stood. The car knocked down a light pole, then the three people standing on the sidewalk.
Two of the pedestrians had minor injuries, while Graham sustained extensive wounds. The medics rushed him to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he passed away despite the best efforts of doctors.
The police said the driver didn’t stay at the accident scene but fled after seeing the deceased on the ground. They did not disclose if they’ve apprehended the motorists but asked anyone with information about the crash to contact the MPD station. Tipsters who want to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers.
