At about 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 27th, a suspected DUI driver, Alfredo Enriquez, 58, crashed his car into an SUV carrying two minors. The accident happened in Phoenix, Arizona, and the suspect would need a drunk driving attorney’s services.
Sgt. Tommy Thompson with the Phoenix Police Department, said that the two-vehicle crash happened near 40th Avenue and Camelback Road. The sergeant said that Enriquez tried buying alcohol at a business, but the employees turned him away because he looked intoxicated.

The man then got in his car, despite the employees trying to stop him from driving. He attempted to turn north onto 41st Drive and collided with the Honda SUV carrying a mother and two children.
Thompson said one of the employees witnessed the crash and ran over to help. They tried to get Enriquez to remain at the scene until officers arrived, but he fled on foot. The SUV’s 41-year-old driver and the minors suffered severe injuries and received treatment at a local hospital.
Phoenix Fire listed the children in critical condition. The police worked with the Vehicular Crimes Unit to locate the registered address for the suspect’s car. They used it to find the man and take him into custody.
A drug recognition expert confirmed that Enriquez was impaired when he struck the SUV, and at the PPD headquarters, he admitted he was the driver involved. The police booked him on three counts of aggravated assault and one count of leaving the scene of a severe injury traffic collision.
