The preliminary investigation and statement from witnesses uncovered that a red four-door Subaru was westbound on Golf in the middle lane. The car was behind a dark SUV, and a gray Volkswagen was at the back of the Subaru. As the vehicles approached the intersection with Craycroft, the middle vehicle’s driver saw an unknown object come from underneath the SUV.
The unknown object turned out to be O’Hanlon, and the Subaru and Volkswagen struck her before stopping west of the intersection. The SUV continued on Golf, and the police are trying to identify the driver. A DUI officer determined that the drivers that stayed at the scene were not under the influence at the time of the occurrence.
Investigators learned that O’Hanlon behaved erratically before her death; she ran in and out of traffic and yelled at passing vehicles. They noted that witnesses said the SUV did not make any sudden movement to indicate that it struck anything.
The police believe the woman might have been lying on the roadway, and her dark clothing would have made it difficult for the motorist to see her. The investigation into the occurrence is ongoing, and anyone with information should contact the TPD.
