For unknown reasons, the victim lost control of his vehicle and crashed into the center divider. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found the sedan blocking the interstate’s far left southbound lane.
Peregrina was unresponsive, and they pronounced him dead. The CHP said that he was the only occupant of the car, and there was no other vehicle involved. They blocked two lanes of the interstate while they gathered evidence and removed the wrecked vehicle.
The investigation into the solo car crash is ongoing. Anyone with additional information should contact the highway patrol on the listed line.
Several factors cause loss of control of a motor vehicle. They include but are not limited to brake failure, faulty steering rods, mechanical failure, and adverse weather conditions. Rainfall and snow make the road slippery and can make a vehicle spin or hydroplane.
Hydroplaning refers to tires losing traction due to the wetness of the road. A driver who loses control because of the preceding should avoid stepping on the brake too hard. Apply pressure gently, taking one or two seconds break. Repeat the latter until the car stops completely.
