The preliminary investigation into the accident has uncovered that Moore was traveling southbound on Tenaya Way when she hit a curb with her 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle. When she hit the curb, she was ejected from the motorcycle.
After ejection, her body came into contact with a tree before it landed on the ground. There is a possibility that this is where the majority of her blunt-force injuries were sustained.
Emergency crews transported Moore to University Medical Center. In an update that was released later Sunday afternoon, she was pronounced dead just before 4:20 p.m. by the medical staff at the hospital.
The reports did not indicate if Moore was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Nevada laws specify that all riders of motorcycles must wear a helmet when they are on the road with their motorcycle.
The police have not indicated a cause for Moore hitting the curb with her motorcycle. They are currently investigating the circumstances revolving around the accident. Moore was the only person on the motorcycle at the time of the accident.
