Two men led police on a chase through Columbus on March 24 around noon. They had stolen a four-door black Chevrolet Cruz and fled the scene of the theft. The chase ended on Chalfonte Drive in Columbus.
According to Lieutenant Wendy Holland, the driver of the vehicle turned into a suburban type neighborhood where it came into contact with a fire hydrant before coming to a stop after hitting a fence in the backyard of one of the homes.

17-year-old Colby Dehart, the tenant of the home where the car went through the fence, expressed his shock to the police and media. He had never seen anything like that take place in the neighborhood before. He heard the boom and went outside in time to see the driver hit the fence. That was when Dehart called his parents.
The report indicates that parts of the car were scattered throughout the neighborhood due to the crash. It did not indicate if the men were injured in the collision. Luckily, no bystanders were injured in the pursuit of the men.
The names of the suspects have not been released at this time, but they have been apprehended. It is not clear what charges the men will face, and at this time, no information on the Muskogee County site matches the description of the accident.
The police indicated that the investigation is currently ongoing. Updates will be published once more information is made available to the public.
