The Metropolitan Police Department responded to the scene of an accident on Saturday, March 21, at around 7:35 p.m. The accident occurred near Las Vegas Boulevard and Silverado Ranch Boulevard.
The driver, now identified as 54-year-old Raymond Williamson, was driving a 2011 Nissan Altima eastbound on Silverado Ranch Boulevard when his vehicle veered off the roadway.

The Nissan then struck a traffic signal support pole situated at the southeast corner of the intersection with Las Vegas Boulevard. Police state that Williamson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Witnesses in the area that saw the accident occur tried to help the man. When emergency medical personnel got to the scene of the accident, they pronounced Williamson dead while still at the scene.
The coroner has ruled Williamson’s death an accident. However, the official reason that he veered off the road has not been released at this time. There is nothing in the published report that rules out impairment as a factor in the crash.
