A 21-year-old Florida woman was killed in an automobile accident in Callahan County early March 7. Based on the reports, the accident occurred around 2:20 a.m. just 12 miles south of Clyde.
The Texas Department of Public Safety believes that Madison Rachelle Michalak of Orlando, was driving a 2004 Jeep Liberty going east on State Highway 36. As she neared Park Road 2226, she exited the roadway into the north side ditch.

Trying to get herself back onto the roadway, she overcorrected and put the car into the ditch on the south side of the road.
From there she ran into a fence. Her car also collided with trees that were close to the fence. Her car then rolled over.
The weather at the time of the accident was clear. The Department of Public Safety indicated that the road was also dry at the time of the accident. There were no other passengers in the automobile with Michalak.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision.
Michalak was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. She was pronounced dead at the scene by law enforcement individuals.
There was no mention if the Texas Department of Public Safety thought that alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the accident. It is possible that Michalak was simply tired. They did not mention a point of origin or a destination or her drive.
The accident is currently still being investigated by the Department of Public Safety.
