After his arrest, the police took the suspect to the Robert Presley Jail in Riverside. He is still in custody and will only be released once he perfects his bail bond set at $350 000.
The events that led to Lastique’s arrest began on Monday, March 23rd. According to Ryan Railsback, a detective with the Riverside Police, the suspect attacked his mother at her home.
The unnamed woman lives in the 4500-block of Central Avenue. Railsback said the suspect fractured his mother’s arm, and her attempt to flee the residence got the attention of neighbors.
The neighbors called 911, and RPD dispatched officers to the residence. They arrived within minutes and got an ambulance to take the injured woman to the Riverside Community Hospital.
The woman received treatment and is still recovering from her wound. Railsback said that the reason for the attack remains unknown, and the police were unable to track down Lastique until three days after.
The suspect was found next to his car in the 6700-block of Fig Street, and he seemed to be under the influence of drugs. A search of his vehicle uncovered a loaded .357 caliber handgun, two pellet guns, tow machetes, and several knives. An AK-47 rifle with a stash of ammo was found in his residence.
