The latter moved from the left to the middle lane to make room for a vehicle entering the River Road on-ramp to the highway. The act caused Flores, who was driving a Ford Expedition in the middle lane, to try to avoid the truck by veering to the left.
The decision backfired as the woman lost control of her car and collided with the box truck. Both vehicles veered off the road on the west shoulder, and the Ford rolled over. When first responders arrived, they found Flores and her young passengers injured.
The medics took the woman and two of the children to Sutter Hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. An air ambulance took a 10-year-old female to Oakland Children’s Hospital, and the remaining two minors were also airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center.
The accident report also revealed that the driver of the box truck sustained injuries and went to the hospital for treatment. The crash is under investigation, and there’s no additional information at the time of this report.
