Witnesses told the investigators that the deceased was one out of three people heading to the store in a vehicle. When they got to their location, the driver stopped, and Williams got out. As the unidentified motorist tried to pull into a parking space, the older man thought the person was leaving him behind.
The driver pulled forward, and the man ran towards the vehicle, attempted to open the back door, stumbled, and fell under the car. The automobile then ran the victim over, leaving him with significant injuries. Williams lived long enough to make it to the hospital, where he passed away while undergoing treatment.
