Two vehicles were involved in a rear-end accident on the morning of March 12. The accident occurred around 6:15 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 12 and Briggs Road. Police had to close the road for several hours to clean up the accident and conduct the investigation.
According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, a car that was being driven by 24-year-old Kathleen Dobbs was traveling eastbound on U.S. 12. The other vehicle was being driven by 33-year-old Jesse French and was also heading east on U.S. 12 but had stopped to make a left turn onto Briggs Road.

Dobbs was unable to stop her vehicle and ran into the rear-end of French at the intersection.
Dobbs and French only sustained minor injuries in the collision. LifeCare Ambulance was called to the scene. It was not released if the two drivers were taken to the hospital for their injuries or if they were treated at the scene and released.
There were also two children involved in the accident. The report didn’t indicate which vehicle they were in or if there was one in each. The children came out of the accident without any injuries. The police determined that they were properly restrained in their safety seats.
The police have not listed any citations in the accident. The Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by LifeCare Ambulance, the Michigan State Police, and Quincy Fire Department during the accident investigation.
