One man was killed Friday afternoon in a rear-end collision on a state highway in Williamson County, according to authorities.
Twenty-six-year-old Rashaad E. Addison, a resident of Marion, died from his injuries at the scene of the Friday afternoon crash on Illinois 13, car accident reports state. One other vehicle was involved in the crash, but no other injuries were reported by the Illinois State Police.

Addison at about 2 p.m. Friday was westbound on Illinois 13 approaching the Williamson County line when he struck the rear end of a truck, according to car accident reports. Troopers said the driver of the truck had stopped and was waiting to make a left turn from the state highway.
Addison was pronounced dead from his wounds at the scene of the crash before he could be transported to a trauma center for treatment, car accident reports state. The other driver, whose identify has not been publicly confirmed by investigators, did not report any injuries.
Addison’s vehicle and the truck were the only two vehicles involved in the wreck, according to authorities.
No citations or charges in connection to the incident have been announced. Troopers continue to investigate the incident, and they have not said whether they believe factors like intoxication, speed or road conditions might have contributed to the incident.
The state highway was closed for more than one hour while emergency personnel worked at the scene. It was unclear Friday afternoon whether additional accident reports would be released in the future.
