Multiple emergency agencies joined the officers in a search for the missing victims. At first, it was a rescue mission, but after about three hours of fruitless searching, it became a recovery mission. Officials began to search for the bodies of the missing persons.
On early Tuesday morning, the search party recovered the body of the woman, while they also found the man’s body at about 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
There is no clear reason as to why the boat capsized, but officials of the sheriff’s office, in their advisory suggested that weather may have been a factor. That suggestion is due to the storm that swept over the region on Sunday, lasting till the next day.
Meanwhile, accident reports state that investigations into the cause and manner of the victims’ death are ongoing. The investigations are conducted by the sheriff’s office and the Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Fun lovers and tourists must avoid going on boat cruises during or immediately after bad weather to prevent boat accidents.
