The Odessa Police Department has released more information regarding an accident that occurred on March 19. The accident occurred just after 4:00 p.m. on Interstate 20 at Grant.
When the police got to the scene, they found that there were three vehicles involved. A Dodge truck had stopped for road construction in the westbound lanes of Interstate 20. Behind the truck was a Jaguar being driven by an unnamed driver with a 39-year-old passenger named Amber Sahagun of Decatur.

An approaching 18-wheeler failed to control their speed and crashed into the back of the Jaguar. Upon impact, the Jaguar slammed into the back of the Dodge.
The driver of the Jaguar was transported to the hospital by emergency services with life-threatening injuries sustained in the accident.
Sahagun was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident from the injuries that she sustained.
There was no other information released regarding injuries in the accident. The condition of the Dodge driver or the 18-wheeler driver has not been released. It is unclear if they sustained any injuries from the accident.
The Odessa Police Department is still investigating the accident. They have not released if the driver of the semi will receive any citations for the accident, but it is highly probable given the circumstances.
An update on the driver of the Jaguar has not been released to the public as of March 20 at 9:30 p.m. EST.
