The congregation of Moberly Baptist Church in Longview is grieving the loss of their senior pastor Glynn Stone Jr. from a one-vehicle accident that happened March 19. Very little information has been released regarding the circumstances of the accident at this time.
Police reports that were released have indicated that Stone was the only one in the vehicle. The accident occurred on East Loop 281 near Alpine Road. For reasons that have not been determined, the pastor veered from the roadway and struck a bridge column.

Emergency personnel were able to get to the pastor in time to get him to the hospital for treatment after the accident. Unfortunately, around 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, he succumbed to his injuries. His wife, Angie, was by his side as he passed.
Stone is survived by his wife and their three sons- Trey, Luke, and Colt. The congregation came together on Thursday night to support the family and congregation members with a time of prayer.
The Moberly Baptist Church did release that they would share more details of the accident later on, but their priority was ministering to the grieving family.
Based on the location given in the reports, Stone’s church was a little over a mile away from the accident site.
The Longview Police Department is still considering this an open investigation at this time. More details about the accident will be released as it becomes available.
