Auto-pedestrian accidents in California are on the rise and getting worse. The fault when such a collision occurs lies either at the feet of the driver or the pedestrian, and the two must work together to prevent such occurrences. They should practice safe road behaviors to protect themselves and those around them.
Pedestrians should ensure that they stick to the sidewalks when walking, use designated crosswalks, and avoid jaywalking. On their part, drivers should yield the right of way to pedestrians, stop at crosswalks and intersections, and drive within the speed limit in residential, business, and school districts.
