The suspect ran a red light at Florentine, causing it to T-bone a white Honda Civic heading west on the same roadway. The impact injured the feet of a 3-year-old female child in the second vehicle, and medics took her to Yavapai Regional Medical Center-East for treatment.
Valencia left the scene, went south on Navajo, and turned onto State Route 69. A patrol officer noticed a car matching the suspect’s vehicle description behind the Blue Hills Gas Station near Kachina Drive. The lawman lost sight of the vehicle when it went south on the roadway at top speed.
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies later found the car around Henderson Road but the suspect was not inside. The search continued until officers located the man at a residence in the area of Robert Road and Lakeshore Drive. They interviewed and booked him into the Prescott County Jail for five felonies and a misdemeanor.
