SAN DIEGO, CA – Doctors were forced to amputate a man’s leg after he was seriously injured in a collision with a hit-and-run driver early last week, KGTV reports.
The collision took place in the El Cerrito area on Tuesday, April 13. 45-year-old Dustin Deason was riding his Harley-Davidson south on 58th Street on his way to visit his tax preparer when a northbound passenger vehicle entered his lane near Trojan Avenue. Deason swerved in an attempt to avoid the oncoming vehicle, but it continued traveling in his direction and struck his bike on the left side.

The other vehicle continued northbound without stopping, leaving Deason lying in the roadway with a partially detached foot.
Doctors were initially able to reattach the foot, but complications set in, and they amputated Deason’s left leg at the calf yesterday morning.
Police are searching for the driver responsible for the grisly injury. Deason described the vehicle as a white car, possibly a Toyota Supra, with a male driver and a female passenger.
