The police stated that when medics arrived at the crash site near Sierra Vista Mall, they found the victim lying on the roadway unresponsive. The paramedics were unable to resuscitate the teenager, and they pronounced him dead.

When an accident occurs, the police or other investigating authorities look at the events leading to it to determine whose side fault lies. Negligence on the part of any of the parties means possible criminal prosecution or civil lawsuit.
The standard criminal charges emanating from a crash are hit-and-run, driving under the influence, and vehicular manslaughter. A person can answer either of the trio or everything, and they carry severe punishments.
On the other hand, a civil lawsuit would be a personal injury or wrongful death action, depending on whether the victim lived or died. If the court finds the defendant guilty, they will award damages to the tune of the loss suffered.
