A car accident report from Millbury, Massachusetts, tells of a collision that left a man dead and another injured on Wednesday morning, May 13th. The authorities identified the deceased as Richard Nichols, 66, of Braintree.
According to the Massachusetts State Police, the fatal crash occurred at approximately 9:30 a.m. along a Massachusetts Turnpike ramp. It happened precisely close to Route 20. The investigators said that Nichols was driving an SUV on the roadway when he suddenly crossed over the median.

At the same time, a box truck driven by a 53-year-old man from North Providence, Rhode Island, was coming from the opposite lane. The SUV and the box truck collided head-on, leaving the men with different degrees of injuries.
Nichols passed away from his wounds at the scene of the crash, and the medics pronounced him. The box truck driver sustained life-threatening injuries, and an air helicopter conveyed him to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester.
The cause of the collision remains unknown, and the MSP is still investigating. There is no additional information at this time.
