The driver failed to yield the right of way to a northbound Chevrolet Captiva on US 23 driven by Norman, and the two vehicles collided. The men and their passengers, James Dubey, 51, and Mary Alexander, 80, sustained unspecified wounds.
The medics took the quartet to MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena for treatment of their wounds. The police said that neither Marvin and Norman appeared to be under the influence at the time of the accident. The investigation remains active.
The ACSO had the assistance of the Michigan State Police Alpena-Post, Alpena Township Fire Department, and the Alpena Township Water Department.
A two-vehicle collision is one of the most common types of accidents, and it occurs mostly at intersections. Traffic officials note that collisions happen when drivers fail to yield to other motorists, and disobey stop signs.
Several reports of car accidents also show that drivers’ running red lights, and driving while distracted causes collisions. Traffic authorities advise motorists to desist from the preceding for their safety and that of other road users.
