After spending weeks in the hospital recovering from injuries sustained by a DWI driver, Luis Ramirez is finally home recovering. He is filing suit against the establishment that over-served 26-year-old Zachary Castro, whose negligence and impaired driving inevitably killed Ramirez’s girlfriend, Mayra Ospina.
The accident that occurred in late January left Ospina dead and two others severely injured, including Ramirez. He was still in the hospital when the funeral was held for Ospina.

Castro was arrested for intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault due to the accident but is currently out on bond. He had admitted that he drank six beers and four shots before he got behind the wheel of his truck.
Ramirez’s lawsuit is against World of Beer in Cypress. This is where Castro was coming from on the night of the accident and it was also his place of employment.
The lawsuit is indicating that World of Beer is liable for their employees’ negligent acts. They should have stopped Castro from drinking as much as he did, and they should not have let him get behind the wheel of the car.
The establishment would not comment on the lawsuit due to the current ongoing litigation, however, the spokesperson for the establishment did confirm that Castro is no longer employed by the company.
The company is cooperating fully with the authorities and producing all requests for information that they are presented with.
When asked for a comment regarding the story and the lawsuit, Castro declined.
Ramirez still has a lot of recovery time ahead of him. He is physically getting better, but the mental anguish from the accident still haunts him. He misses Ospina every day. He pleads for people to think before they over-serve someone.
The lawsuit filed by Ramirez’s lawyer against the establishment is seeking damages for lost wages, medical expenses, mental anguish, and pain and suffering.
