Officers from the Highland station responded to the call, and when they arrived at the location, a helicopter observer saw Jackson driving a silver Ford SUV at top speed. He was going through the complex’s parking lot and went into the pedestrian courtyard to avoid the deputies.
The suspect struck a male groundskeeper during the evasion maneuvers and kept on driving. The man sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene. Jackson then stopped the SUV several times, reversed, and drove straight into the patrol vehicles.
The man tried to leave the complex, and the officers used their cars to push him into a parked vehicle. He tried to escape on foot, but the lawmen caught and arrested him. They searched the automobile and recovered a loaded handgun with bullets that matched the calibers found at the scene of the gunshots.
The police booked Jackson into the West Valley Detention Center on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon against law enforcement. He is also facing felony evading, hence the top accident lawyer. The man also has a no-bail felony warrant for violation of post-release community supervision terms.
