Authorities released a statement on April 2 that 36-year-old Lakesha Gooden of Las Vegas succumbed to injuries that she sustained in an accident on March 27. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police had suspected that Gooden might have been under the influence at the time of the accident. There was never an official statement made to confirm or deny this from the accident reports.
On March 27, when the initial accident occurred, witnesses stated that a Lexus, identified as Gooden’s car, had driven off the road. The collision happened on Windmill Lane near Carob Way. When Gooden’s car left the roadway, it struck a brick wall in the process.

The Lexus reentered the road and hit a Dodge Charger. Accident reports indicated that Gooden was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Gooden’s body was ejected from the vehicle during the accident. Emergency services on the scene rushed her to the hospital.
A third vehicle was involved in the accident. A Mercedes Benz was driving along the road when debris from the brick wall hit their car. Reports indicated that police did not suspect impairment with either driver of the Dodge or the Mercedes Benz.
Both drivers stayed at the accident scene and fully cooperated with the police. It was not clear if there were any injuries sustained by either driver. A Las Vegas car accident attorney can help injured victims in car accidents like this one get the compensation they are entitled to.
