State of Washington authorities believe a man likely was intoxicated at the time of a rollover crash Monday night in Ferry County in which he suffered serious injuries.
Forty-one-year-old Kenneth Gliddon, a resident of Republic, was taken via air ambulance to a Spokane hospital for treatment after the wreck, which was reported shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, the Washington State Patrol reported. Car accident reports do not list any other injuries connected to the crash, and no other vehicles were involved.

Gliddon at about 10:15 p.m. Monday was northbound on Washington 21 in Ferry County when he lost control of his vehicle, according to authorities. His pickup truck veered off the roadway and rolled multiple times, finally coming to rest in a nearby ditch, car accident reports state.
Authorities said Gliddon was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, causing serious injuries. He was transported by emergency medical personnel to a Ferry County hospital, and he later was airlifted to a trauma center in Spokane, troopers said.
An updated condition report for Gliddon was not made available Tuesday afternoon. Car accident reports don’t clearly state whether he was wearing a seatbelt when the wreck occurred.
Investigators believe Gliddon was under the influence of intoxicants at the time of the crash, and car accident reports also list the possible involvement of a deer, though details were scarce. Charges of driving under the influence likely are pending, troopers said.
The incident remains under investigation by the Washington State Patrol. Troopers have not said whether other factors, like inattentive driving, speed or road conditions, are thought to have contributed to the wreck.
