Teachers and students at Bullard High School are trying to come to grips with the tragic passing of a sophomore student.
According to accident reports, Emma Sikes died on Saturday after she was involved in a crash on Friday.

The Bullard Police Department confirmed that the accident occurred around 12:30 p.m. in front of Whataburger on Highway 69.
However, there are few further details on the crash. School officials said two students were involved in the accident, but they didn’t reveal the condition or identity of the second student.
It is not known whether Sikes was driving or if she was a passenger.
Officials from the Bullard Independent School District said counseling would be offered for students and staff who need it.
They urged parents to be on the lookout for changes in their children’s behavior that indicated they need support.

Meanwhile, Superintendent Dr. Jack Lee said Sikes was bright and she participated in a number of school activities.
She was a member of a band, Spanish club and FAA chapter.
Students who knew and loved her gathered on Saturday morning to mourn the loss.
A Facebook page has been set up to secure funds for Emma’s medical care and funeral costs. By Monday afternoon, more than the requested $15,000 has been donated.
